The search for a missing woman ended with her being found alive but injured in a ravine.
Just after 5 Monday afternoon police in Wyanet were contacted by the husband of 64-year-old Nancy Erickson of Wyanet. He says she was not home when he came home and that she left behind her vehicle, purse and phone. Worries grew when it came to light Erickson has a medical condition and some medicine was left at home that she normally would've taken.
Within an hour, an extensive search for Erickson started around her home. After several hours she was located about a half-mile from her home in a wooded area. Erickson had apparently fallen down about 70 feet into a ravine. She was alert and talking to rescuers.
A Life Flight chopper was summoned to the scene and flew Erickson to OSF in Peoria.
