If you've been following our story of a local curler playing at the national level, we have an update. Bella Hagenbuch of rural Utica has been a member of “Team McDonald” for the past two years. The all-women team hails from across the country with the “Skip” or captain residing in Phoenix.
All were involved in the USA Curling Junior Nationals in Chaska, Minnesota the past few days. Team McDonald won 4 of 5 in pool play, lost the semi game Friday night. They lost the 3rd place game Saturday to Team Jones 6 – 3. Hagenbuch said her foursome came away feeling good:
Meanwhile, Bella Hagenbuch is starting her Sophomore year at St. Bede today(Monday). She'll play volleyball, but she wants to curl in the Olympics:
