Prison awaits a Walnut man.
Twenty-five-year-old Taylor Steele on Tuesday pleaded guilty in Bureau County Court to felony retail theft and a felony charge of having heroin with the intent to sell it. Steele was given 5 years in prison for each charge but will be allowed to serve the time concurrently.
It was back in late November when prosecutors say Steele was seen hiding several stolen items in his coat when leaving the Princeton Walmart. Officers found more than $300 worth of stolen goods along with heroin when arresting Steele.
