Conservation Police

A river rescue was carried out on the Illinois River in Henry.

Just after 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, two teenage boys were brought to solid ground after being stranded for more than a half hour. One of the boys actually fell into the river at one point but was able to get back onto the icy surface before being rescued. Conservation Police used a boat to bring the teens ashore.

Neither teen was taken to a hospital.
