If you love Sisler's Ice Cream, you might want to stock up. Sisler's announcing that this month, they will cease retail distribution of their ice cream. The Ohio, Illinois company sites several problems in the past ten years: labor shortages, suppy chain issues and ingredient shortages.
There's a small glimmer of hope, though. Sisler's – till late this year - will produce their ice cream for sale at their Princeton Ice Cream shop. The owners, Tieg and Lucas Sisler, hope to manufacture their own by next winter.
The company will now focus on continuing to distribute packaged ice. The Sisler family admits this decision came with mixed emotions and great difficulty.
