So far investigators have stayed tight-lipped about an alleged intruder being found dead on the south side of Ottawa.
What's known so far is that police were called to a home in the 800 block of Tomahawk Drive just after 11 o'clock Wednesday night for the report of shots being fired. When officers arrived, they found a man who they say was an intruder, dead at the scene. His name hasn't been released.
Interviews are underway including talking to the person who is thought to have pulled the trigger. Officers have said the incident is isolated.
When contacted late Thursday afternoon by WLPO News, La Salle County State's Attorney Todd Martin said the investigation is still ongoing. Members of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services Unit are working with the Ottawa PD and state's attorney's office.
