The “Fighting Illini” rode the arm of Ty Rybarchek to a win against Minnesota Saturday. In the second game of a double-header, Rybarchek worked seven innings giving up four hits, 1 run, 1 walk and notching three strikeouts. The Illini won 7 – 1 over Minnesota.
In the earlier game, Cam McDonald went 4 for 5 with two doubles, two RBIs and scored three runs. Both McDonald and Rybarchek are former Hall High School standouts. Illinois flattened the “Golden Gophers” 6-1 Friday. The games were played in Minnesota.
