While she's not calling for his resignation, State Senator Sue Rezin is going hard after Governor J.B. Pritzker.
The Republican from Morris says the recently released Inspector General's report about the COVID-19 outbreak at the Illinois Veterans' Home in La Salle confirms “the Governor's Office took no active role in managing the deadliest outbreak at a state-run facility in Illinois history”. She says Pritzker's office was just as “AWOL” during the outbreak as was the former Veterans' Home director. Rezin claims it took several weeks into the outbreak before Pritzker's team got involved. And when he did get involved, Rezin says it was just an attempt to deflect from “fatal mismanagement”.
The senator wants a joint hearing of the House and Senate Veterans Committees on the report's findings.
