An Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp pitcher has been taken in the first round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Big left-hander Noah Schultz was selected in the first round by the White Sox Sunday. The six-foot-nine-inch thrower was the 26th pick overall. He's taken the mound in six games this summer for the Shrimp, and his team has won five of those games.

Schultz is from Aurora. He graduated from Oswego East High School, and he'd previously committed to playing for Vanderbilt University. Schultz becomes Pistol Shrimp Baseball’s first-ever first-round pick.
