Customers at McDonald's Peru location near Interstate 80 likely were surprised by a disturbance that took place there last Thursday during the lunch rush. Peru police were called to break it up, and, when officers arrived, they arrested 62-year-old Ronnie Boston of Ottawa for violating an order of protection.
At about the same time midday on Thursday, 22-year-old Damien Chavez of Chicago showed up at the Peru police station and paid 175 dollars for failure to appear on a DUI charge.
A failure-to-appear warrant also brought 35-year-old Ambler Schmotzer to police attention. The 35-year-old from La Salle was arrested on 11th Street in Peru Friday night.
That same day, Peru police were called yet again about a possible shoplifting at the Walmart Supercenter. Since the merchandise added up to more than a hundred dollars, 40-year-old Donna Soper of La Salle will be appearing in court to answer to the charge.
