Peru police were especially on their toes last week.

On Wednesday, Peru police arrested 49-year-old Louis Harmston of St. Peters, Missouri. Harmston was wanted on a parole violation warrant from that state's Department of Corrections. He was found at a job site in Peru and was arrested quietly. Harmston was taken to the La Salle County Jail to await extradition to Missouri.

Last Tuesday, a 15-year-old boy from Peru bought himself some trouble. The unidentified minor was arrested for criminal damage to state-supported property, which in this case was Parkside School. He's out of custody, and the case will be move ahead in Juvenile Court.

Also on the 16th, 57-year-old Sheri Jurkas of La Salle was hit with a Peru ordinance charge of retail theft of items valued between 50 and a hundred dollars. Jurkas allegedly failed to pay for a number of items at the Peru Walmart.
