After a year like 2020, it might be hard to find something to do that's better-sounding right now than getting out in the fresh air, on a diamond of dirt, three bases and home plate.
Ottawa's men's and women's softball leagues are accepting rosters for the summer season. All leagues start the week of June seventh and continue for eight weeks. All teams will compete in a city-wide double-elimination tournament at the end of the season. The city's offering three slow-pitch leagues for men – one competitive and two recreational. Women will be split into two leagues – slow-pitch and fast-pitch.
Rosters are due by May 26. Fees are due by the first game. You can pick up a roster form at Ottawa City Hall, the Ottawa YMCA and Sam's Pizza. You can also get one by visiting the Ottawa City Recreation website.
