Jon Hancock 63, of La Salle died unexpectedly at his home on February 13, 2021, from Covid-19.
A memorial visitation to celebrate Scott's life will be Sunday from Noon to 3 at Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. Masks are required and social distancing should be practiced. Interment will be private and at a later date.
Scott Hancock was born on October 16, 1957. He attended Oglesby schools. Scott graduated from LP in 1975. Although he had other jobs, cars and body work were his true passion. At a young age he started sanding cars at a local body shop and he later worked for La Salle Body and Fender for 37 years.
Scott married Chrystal Pohar in 1987 in La Salle. The both enjoyed their camper at Woodhaven Lakes and cruising around on their Harleys. They especially loved their dogs.
He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was known to have a sweet tooth, and was never afraid to share his opinion. Scottie insisted on having a well kept lawn, extra clean vehicles, and was always up for a few cheap laughs.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 24 years, Chrystal Hancock of La Salle; his father Verne Siemers of Oglesby; a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Isaacson of Princeton; and a son Brian (Holly Siegel) Hancock of California. Also surviving are granddaughters, Marcella and Hadley Isaacson of Princeton, sisters, Rhonda (Greg) Schmidt of Peru, Shelly (Rich) Greening of Oglesby, and a brother Troy (Noelle Sauter) Siemers of Tonica. Surviving as well are brothers-in-law Brian (Jennifer) Pohar of Missouri, Bob (Lynne) Pohar of La Salle, and sister-in-law Stacey Pohar of La Salle. Also surviving is his Mother-in-law Chris Pohar of La Salle, as well as nephews Jonathan and Carson Siemers, Andrew, Bobby and Ethan Pohar, Dylan (Jenna) Pohar, and a niece Breeana Pohar. Scottie is also survived by many extended family and friends.
