It's a case of going from the Sandman Motel to the “greybar hotel”.
Thirty-eight-year-old Brandon Atkinson who was living at the Sandman in Peru according to court records, was booked Friday morning on weapons charges. He's facing two counts of being a felon in possession of a weapon. The La Salle County Sheriff's Department led the investigation. Atkinson needs $2,500 to bond out.
The Peru man is currently on parole after getting out of prison last year. He was serving time for a trespassing conviction in Bureau County.
His criminal history also includes prison stints for robbery in Bureau County, attempted armed robbery out of La Salle County, burglary in Knox County and residential burglary in Warren County.
