Voting to impeach former President Donald Trump has gotten Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger a lot of attention. Not all of the attention is positive.
The La Salle County Republican Central Committee is organizing a get together Saturday called “A Rally for Representation”. Committee members have been vocal about their anger towards Kinzinger voting to impeach Trump. Despite their unhappiness, organizers say the rally will have peaceful and respectful dialogue. One thing the rally won't include is an appearance by the congressman.
His Communications Director Maura Gillespie tells WLPO News that she's not aware of Kinzinger participating in the rally. Instead she put out a statement on his behalf saying: “The Congressman, along with his team, has enjoyed a long relationship with party leaders. Congressman Kinzinger looks forward to building on that solid foundation as they work together to navigate these next four years under a Democrat majority and through the course of this pandemic, keeping the focus on serving the community and the shared interests of the party.”
“A Rally for Representation” is supposed to last from 1 until 3 at Washington Park in Ottawa.
