Law enforcement agencies working the Jelani Day case seem to have no answers. On Wednesday, La Salle County Sheriff Adam Diss says investigators are reviewing hundreds of hours of security video. A search of the Illinois River by a Plainfield Fire Department Dive team was looking for items pertaining to the case. That search produced negative results.
Members of the La Salle County Sheriff's Office, Peru, LaSalle, Bloomington and Illinois State Police, La Salle County Coroner's Office and the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit meet daily. Anyone with informaiton should call the La Salle County Sheriff's Office. The cause of death undetermined.
Day's body was found in the Illinois River near Peru on September 4. His mother, Carmen Bolden-Day said via social media that her son was murdered and my goal and purpose are to find out what happened and hold those responsible accountable. She added that her 25-year old late son “did not push himself in a river.”
