They barely unpacked; now, it's time to go. Chicago Loyola Ramblers frustrated the “Fighting Illini” in the second round at the NCAA tourney Sunday. Loyola gave Illinois their “walking papers” by a score of 71 – 58. Ayo Dosunmu was neutralized, but on the bright side; the tall Kofi Cockburn seemed better at the free-throw line.
The Illini trailed from the start and never led. They trailed by 14, at one point, early in the game and by nine at the half. While the eighth seed Ramblers move on, Illinois packs it up and heads home.
