A Georgia man was jailed Friday after a multi-county chase and crash outside Marseilles. 26-year old Brian Archaga-Chirinos is in La Salle County jail on charges of Felony Aggravated fleeing and eluding and possessing a stolen vehicle and stolen registration.
The incident began on Friday afternoon, as Archago-Chirinos sped away from Ogle County authorities, northwest of Dixon. At least six agencies including State and Conservation police pursued the Marietta, Georgia man through Amboy, then Mendota and later Ottawa. La Salle County deputies picked up the chase at Routes 6 and 23. Archago-Chirinos later crashed his vehicle about one and a half miles south of the Marseilles State Fish and Wildlife area.
Archago-Chirinos was treated at OSF St. Elizabeth for injuries and is now in the La Salle County jail awaiting a bond hearing.
