A scary crash in an Interstate 39 construction zone led to a Life Flight helicopter being called.
Just before 10 Thursday morning, police and paramedics were told about a crash in Mendota involving a van and two Illinois Department of Transportation trucks. State troopers say the IDOT crews were doing some road work when a van first hit the dump box of an IDOT truck. The van continued on, hitting a partially loaded hot asphalt trailer being pulled by a different IDOT truck.
The driver of the van suffered injuries while no construction workers were hurt. I-39 at the Mendota exit was closed for about three hours after the wreck.
