A high profile civil rights attorney is the latest person to take up the Jelani Day case.
Ben Crump appeared along side Reverend Jesse Jackson and Jelani Day's mother Carmen Bolden Day Friday morning to demand the FBI take over exclusive control of the Jelani Day investigation. Crump says common sense tells you Jelani Day died as part of a homicide.
Day's grieving mother says she will never accept her son committed suicide. Reverend Jesse Jackson labeled it a case of "small town vigilante justice".
Jelani Day was reported missing August 24th and his body was found September 4th in the Illinois River in Peru. A coroner's report labeled Day's death as a drowning with no evidence of trauma before his death.
