James Tracy

A man who was found unfit to stand trial in La Salle County back in July has now been found to be of sound mind.

Thirty-eight-year-old James Tracy of Thomson was in court Wednesday and the judge set a January trial based on a report from the Illinois Department of Human Services. Tracy is charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and one count of aggravated assault using a motor vehicle.

He was jailed April 26th after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase that started in Lostant, went to Marshall County and ended in Utica. During the chase, Tracy is accused of intentionally swerving into law enforcement at various times with his pickup truck and narrowly missing hitting a school bus.

He's being held in the La Salle County Jail on $50,000 bond.
