A Wyoming, Illinois man was hurt midday Saturday snowmobiling in western Bureau County. Conservation Police's Sgt. Phil Wire says the driver struck a high snowbank on 1225 North road north of Neponset. The unit went sideways and threw the unidentified man off.
He's being treated in St. Luke's in Kewanee for a broken leg and ankle injuries. Wire suspects alcohol, but inexperience with a new machine may really be the cause.Â
Investigation is continuing as he may have been in a group.
